I do realize that I have procrastinated enough way too much when it comes to the post that I am supposed to come up with for the recent Japan trip that I have had in November. And since it's a Japan trip that we are talking about here (HAHAHA!!), I have decided to split it up into two separate entries, one for five days worth of Arashi-land goodness!!! (*^▽^*)
If you are still interested in how my Japan trip slash my Graduation trip with my friends that don't go to the same school as I do, please go ahead and click on the cut!! ◠ ◡ ◠
Day One: Travelling to the Land of Arashi + Settling down into AirBnb
6hours plus of flying time in the oddest hours of a morning (Thanks Love for the ride to airport!! ^^) and finding myself actually liking plane food. Navigating within and out of the airport towards the AirBnb location where we have booked prior the trip. I'll just say that it was kinda awkward when it comes to meeting our AirBnb host since we were trying our best to get ourselves connected to the JR wifi (to contact our host) at the station where Poh Ying realized that one lady was looking at our direction one too many times, who turns out to be our AirBnb host. HAHA!!
I'm guessing our luggages and English coming out of our mouths gave us away, eh? (≧▽≦)
She walked us to the apartment which wasn't exactly far nor was it near to the train station and tried her best to let us know the food options, supermarts (whether 24hours or not) and combinis along the way. The apartment was really cosy (&by that, I mean that it's a ideal size for 3 girls, but let's not take luggages and shopping loots into the equation. ⋋_⋌ ) and she really had everything prepared- from heater to dryer to Q-tips.. except for an iron + ironing board (which she brought it over the next day. #efficient).
All that we could do with what's left of Day One is to get outside and get ourselves some food. Eventually settled our meals at Matsuya - Hello Vending Machine ordering system!! HAHAHA!!
Day Two: Harajuku!!!
Spent the entire day in Harajuku and I still don't think it's enough. Though to be really honest, I can spend like say, 3 days there? HAHAHA!! (≧∀≦)
The problems we had that was crippling us in going into shopping mode in full force was the fact that this is only Day Two, most of the stores were recommending and having nothing else on sale but fall/winter clothing (= Things we can never wear or layer here on a day-to-day basis without having to suffer) and we geniuses forgot to bring our passports out (okay, not exactly an issue since one of the staffs in one of the many Wego stores there were nice enough and gave us the foreigner discount even without our passports!!
YAY WEGO!! ٩(^ᴗ^)۶). HUR.
Sigh, I wanna go to both Takeshita and Harajuku Street again now. (◞‸◟)
Day Three: Pokemon Center (Mega Store) + Tokyo Tower
Took a while for us to get the directions right to Pokemon Center at Sunshine City, but I am so so glad that we did it!! (On a separate note, walking along the streets of Ikebukuro feels so different from the other places that we have been, but in all a good and different-feel kind of way. If y'all know what that means. Heh.)
POKEMON CENTER FTW SERIOUSLY.
Oh, other than the fact that they didn't have the first generation Pokemons - THAT, was a real disappointment. But ah wells.
So many different kinds of Pikachus to choose from to gift people back home and just having to choose which Pikachu to get already took me a whole lot of time and it didn't help when the pocket wifi that the AirBnb host provided us couldn't work when we are inside for reasons that I absolutely have no idea of. BAH.
If y'all have seen my snaps and Instagram updates, you guys would be able to get a rough gist of how cray I went there. HAHAHA!!
Headed off to Tokyo Tower after having freshly made churros, getting awed by HUGE takoyaki and early dinner at Saizeriya (Before anyone goes off at me for saying that there's Saizeriya here in SG and all, allow me to tell you that their menu have items that we don't and their hamburger tastes different from the ones I've tasted here. There.).
It's pretty far from the train station and let's just say that the walk in the drizzling and cold was well-worth the time and effort when you are at both observation decks. Bright pretty lights lighting up Tokyo, the view from way up above and even the area outside the entrance of the Tower was illuminated with Christmas lights despite the fact that it's only November.
Day Four: Nissin Cup Noodle Museum
Not cool when it's a day where you decide to wear short skirts and the weather decides that it's a good idea to start raining and having the harsh winds coming at your face very occasionally when you are out walking on the streets. Yeah, you can blame me for being vain but I would rather tell you that I got trolled by the weather forecasts. (*`д´*)
Decorating your own cup noodles cup and getting a chance to pack+seal and customize the flavours and toppings of your cup noodles doesn't sound that exciting until you actually get your hands on it. I promise you that it's actually much more fun than it actually sounds and I can't seem to think of a plausible way to make it sound more exciting for you other than telling you to trust the Momofuku Group. HAHAHA!!
Okay, I am convinced that there's something else that we did and went to another place on the same day but I just can't recall it now and I don't even know why this is happening. Oh my God. ლ(ಠ_ಠლ)
Day Five: DISNEYSEA
I absolutely have no idea how else to tell or to explain or.. I can't even continue but to only come up with:
IT IS DEFINITELY THE PLACE WHERE DREAMS COME TRUE!!!!!
Hahahaha, nah, I'll try. (:
Our initial plan was to go to both DisneyLand and DisneySea in a day but let's just take it that we are not saying this fo'real and we know that it's impossiburu to do that right from the start (coughs).
SO, we had to come up with only one and I guess DisneySea won since it's the ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD (Okay Sorry, I'll try my best to keep my calm in place.. TRY.) and we are just a ticket away from it. OH MAI GOD.
Remember how I mentioned about how Tokyo Tower is all dressed up with Christmas illuminations?
DISNEYSEA TOOO!!!
There's this huge Christmas tree that gets the scent of cookies drafting into your nostrils just by standing under it!! And also, we managed to catch Mickey and friends dressing up a Christmas tree that's located in the middle of the Sea - nah, doubt that it makes any sense if you've not been there or seen anything about it. ;P
(AAAND, THE SEA THAT ARASHI OPENED DISNEYSEA WITH!!! YAAAASSS!!!)
Rides were worth the queue+ COLD and also managed to score one Fast Pass (for the Indiana Jones ride!!) out of the many rides!!!
AAAH!! DISNEY MAGIC EVERYWHERE I'M TELLING YOU!!!
Sigh. Someone take me back there already!!! ●︿●
PART TWO OF MY JAPAN TRIP COMING UP IN ANOTHER POST!!! (COMING IN 2016 KAY!!! Hehehe!!)
